Field Manager

The Field Manager ribbon group, like any Microsoft Office-styled application, is comprised of buttons.

Field Manager Files

The selections made when using Field Manager are saved in XML files.

The location of all files is: C:\ProgramData\ServiceSoftware\Master Data Aficionado Workbench

Knowing this can be useful because the settings can be made on one PC and the files distributed to other project team members to ensure that deliverables are created consistently.

Field Manager

Use Field Manager to manage the list of Properties for Segments and Fields that appear in the user interface, field-level mapping documents, and other reports that are configurable.

Application default settings can be restored by clicking the toolbar button to Restore Program Default Selections and then clicking the Save icon on the same toolbar.

For example, a map Segment has Properties such as:

A Field Manager Object is a list of configurable properties. For example, in the user interface for a Map Project, the Segments that appear in the Main Work Area are configured by a Field Manager Object named SegmentsMain. The Field Manager Object named SegmentsMain describes the list of Properties that will appear for each Segment in the Grid.

For each of the Properties of Field Manager Object named SegmentsMain, there are Object Properties that control the behavior of the Property.

The following Object Properties may be maintained for each Property of an Object:

Object Property	Comment
Name	Do not change
Scope	No used by the application at this time.
Behavior	Display Only Editable Hidden
Caption	The label that will be displayed for this property.
Position	The ordinal position of this property; the order in which properties are displayed in a grid or on a report.
Zoom	If this option is checked and when the property is displayed in a grid and the property is double-clicked, then a larger editing window opens.
MultiLine	If this option is checked and when the property is displayed in a grid then the editable area is more than one line in height.
Height	If the MultiLine option is checked and when the property is displayed in a grid then this sets the height of the editable area. Try a value between 60 and 100 as a starting point.
Hidden	This object property cannot be edited. It is set by the system based on the settings of other object properties.
IsReadOnly	This object property cannot be edited. It is set by the system based on the settings of other object properties.
Comment	Free text entry.
